The 12th International Conference on Business, Management,
and Governance (ICBMG 2024) was successfully held from
November 25 to 27, 2024, at the University of Western
Australia in Perth, Australia. The conference brought
together scholars, industry professionals, and policymakers
from around the globe to explore emerging trends and
challenges in business management and governance.
The diverse topics covered ranged
from corporate governance and digital transformation to
sustainable business practices and entrepreneurship,
reflecting the conference’s interdisciplinary focus.
In the morning
the conference chair Prof. George Shan delivered the
opening remarks, setting the tone for the conference and
welcoming participants. He highlighted the significance of
the event and emphasized the importance of collaboration and
knowledge sharing in advancing research and practices across
the fields of business, governance, and finance.

Title: “Benefits from Searching SEC Filings on Edgar”
Prof. Monroe explored how financial professionals,
researchers, and businesses can harness the power of the
EDGAR database (Securities and Exchange Commission filings)
to gain insights into corporate performance, governance
practices, and regulatory trends, benefiting decision-making
processes.
Keynote Speech II: Prof. Piyush Sharma (Curtin University,
Australia)
Title: “International Business-to-Business Relationships:
Challenges and Opportunities”
Prof. Sharma examined the complexities of international B2B
relationships, addressing the challenges businesses face
when expanding globally, including cross-cultural
differences, regulatory hurdles, and logistics. He also
highlighted the opportunities for fostering stronger
international partnerships and driving business growth.

Corporate Managers Respond to Ordinary
Investors’ Information Demands?
Prof. Jinshuai Hu
presented his
research on how corporate managers respond
to the information demands of ordinary
investors. The study explored
the interplay between investor queries on
online communication platforms and corporate
disclosures in the Management Discussion and
Analysis (MD&A) sections of annual reports.
Using advanced machine-learning techniques,
the research uncovers how managers adjust
narrative disclosures to enhance
informativeness, particularly in response to
investor demands, while maintaining
disclosure quality. This talk offers
valuable insights into corporate
transparency and its impact on investor
relations.

Prof. Norzaidi Mohd Daud, Universiti Teknologi MARA,
Malaysia Title:
Examining the Relationship between Continued Voluntary
Technology Usage and Officer Performance in Malaysia’s
Maritime Industry
Prof. Norzaidi Mohd Daud explored
the critical connection between the ongoing voluntary use of
technology and its impact on the performance of officers
within Malaysia's maritime industry. The speech delved
into key factors influencing technology adoption and how
sustained usage contributes to enhanced operational
efficiency and effectiveness in this sector.

Dallas, United States Title: Agile Practice Impact on Software
Developer’s Well-Being: Interactions and Influences of
Micromanaging, Daily Standup, Job Satisfaction, Job
Involvement, and Goal Clarity on Project Success Delivery
Assoc. Prof. Sarmann Kennedyd discussed his research on
the effects of Agile practices on software developers’
well-being and their impact on project success. The
presentation examined how micromanagement, daily standups,
job satisfaction, job involvement, and goal clarity
interacted to influence project outcomes. The talk provided
valuable insights into fostering healthier and more
productive work environments while ensuring successful
project delivery in Agile software development settings.
